Cylinder Dryer
In the papermaking process, it is a pressure vessel used to dry paper. The number of cast iron drying cylinder accounts for about 2/3 of the total number of pressure vessels in the paper industrry.
The function of cylinder dryer is to dry the moisture in the paper and decorate the paper surface.
The main parts of the drying cylinder :Roller shell, turbulence rod, siphon, end cover, manhole cover, bearings, shaft head, steam joint, etc.
Introduction to cylinder dryer paper machine

The function of cylinder dryer paper machine is to dry the moisture in the paper and decorate the paper surface.
The main parts of cylinder dryer paper machine :Roller shell, turbulence rod, siphon, end cover, manhole cover, bearings, shaft head, steam joint, etc.

In order to increase the smoothness of the paper surface, the outer surface of cylinder dryer paper machine should be polished and the inner surface should be turned smooth, so that the thickness of entire dry cylinder wall is consistent, to ensure safety, balance, and uniform heat transfer in all parts of the cylinder dryer paper machine.

Drying principle of cylinder dryer paper machine:
The saturated steam introduced from the steam joint condenses inside cylinder dryer paper machine, releasing heat that causes the temperature of dry cylinder to rise, thereby heating the paper running on the surface of dry cylinder. Heat is transferred to the paper through the contact between paper and surface of cylinder dryer.
After steam releases heat and condenses, a large amount of condensed water is produced. The rotation of dry cylinder causes these condensed water to adhere to the inner surface of dry cylinder under centrifugal force, forming a water ring at high speeds, which hinders the transfer of heat to the surface of the dry cylinder.
Therefore, siphon is needed to timely discharge the condensed water. At low speeds, there will not be a water ring formed, but condensation water will also splash and accumulate in the dry cylinder.
